Sean Court, Partner of Beaumont & Co., welcomes Premier McNeil and thanks the province for their commitment to keeping youth in Nova Scotia.
Premier McNeil speaks to Beaumont & Co. staff.
At the start of what’s sure to be a very busy campaign season, Beaumont & Co. is very excited to have been one of the first campaign stops for Nova Scotia Liberal Party Premier Stephen McNeil on Tuesday, May 2nd.
In the warehouse of our Burnside-based headquarters, McNeil made an announcement that – as a business dedicated to creating unique employment opportunities for youth – excites our team very much. McNeil announced more than $45-million in funding to generate youth employment opportunities to retain young talent in the province. This will build on existing programs, create new ones and remove barriers for apprenticeships.
Specifically, the $45-million will support the Graduate to Opportunity Program, Mitacs Accelerate Program, and Vocational
training – adding seven new skilled trades centres in high schools. Investments will also be made to new programs, including the Innovate to Opportunity, Nova Scotia Youth Job Connector, and eliminate the requirement for apprentices to pay tuition when they leave work to complete technical training.
This announcement is extremely important for Nova Scotians, as youth unemployment is currently sitting at 16 per cent, and has fallen faster than anywhere else in Canada.
As the recipient of the Best Youth Employer Award in 2016 and an average employee age of 23, Beaumont & Co. served as the perfect backdrop for McNeil’s funding announcement. We are especially thrilled that this will help 2,000 young Nova Scotians, much like ourselves, find meaningful work experience in the province.
Beaumont & Co. is an award-winning custom exhibit and display manufacturer for international trade shows, retail and corporate locations. It was founded in 2015 by brothers and former advertising professionals, Sean and James Court, who were looking to enhance the branding experience for companies around the world.
